COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 21, 2023—Between studying for final exams and graduation preparation, students from the Ohio State College of Dentistry gathered for the 2023 Spring Meet and Greet at the Midwest Implant Institute.
“As an alumnus of the 1988 Class, it was important that we took time to invest in the next generation of dentists,” says Dr. Robert Heller, Co-Director of the Midwest Implant Institute, a comprehensive, hands-on training program dedicated to full integration of implantology in general dental practices. “There has been a significant lack of implant curriculum in dental undergraduate programs across America. At MII, we’ve committed to ensuring new dentists develop greater knowledge in this field and are best prepared to treat their patients from the start of their career.”
Nearly 40 students filled MII’s lecture hall with laughter, food, and camaraderie as they listened to presentations on the benefits and profitability of dental implants and real-life experiences from current MII externs.
“It's truly a gift to have MII’s proximity to OSU and experience so much fun, research, and knowledge filled in one incredible night,” said David Campbell, a fourth-year student.
In addition to offering a recent grad discount to the renowned Midwest Implant Institute Externship program, current students can attend, observe, and participate in any MII course free of charge. After visiting the All-Inclusive Live Surgical Course earlier this year, Amber Dalal, graduating from OSU this May, returned for the Bone Grafting and Sinus Elevation Course this weekend. Fully packed with narrated live surgeries and hands-on workshops, Amber joins doctors across the region for a course headlined by Dr. Richard Miron and Dr. Jim Rutkowski.
“The diverse range of lectures and hands-on activities have significantly enhanced my understanding of the constantly evolving field of implant dentistry,” says Amber.
